God destroyed the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of the wicked sin of sodomy. Lot barely escaped because of God's sovereign mercy(II Peter 2:6-7). The depraved nature of the men of Sodom is seen in Genesis 19 and in verse 36 where we read about the terrible consequences of Lot's tolerance of the homosexual sins of the city. While the grace of God is sufficent to save homosexuals, we should not tolerate homosexuality in our society.
