God's sovereignty is clearly taught in this passage. He is The Potter, we are the clay. The Potter shapes the clay according to his own will and determination, and all that he does is good.

   Application: 1. The absolute sovereignty of God. 2. We are God's workmanship. 3. The good pleasure of God. 4. Truth can seldom be conveyed in few words. 5. A sinner's sad response: reject the message; reject the messenger. 6. Let this truth delight your soul: The Lord doth reign.
