The Lord is My Salvation

Zacharias the priest, with an opened mouth and a full heart, became a prophet, and announced that the time had come when God would defeat all Israel's enemies. They, like us, were inclined to believe that a change of government and of circumstance would save them, but Zechariah announced that their redemption would come in the knowledge of the forgiveness of their sins. Here is the heart of all freedom. God has created a people who are happy in his presence, and entirely free to serve him with all their powers. God's strong Saviour, Jesus Christ, is the dawning of light on us who, otherwise, are in the darkness of guilty fear.
