Sinful nonsense not to be endlessly borne with in the church

There is a time when open ungodliness has to be stopped, when unrepented of public sin must be dealt with.

1. Biblical standards of proof will be used v1.
   Biblical procedure is to be followed in establishing truth.

2. Delay can become compromise v2.
   The apostle had shown forbearance but would not indefinately be put off.

3. Christ's power will be displayed again v3.
   In discipline, excommunication and judgment.

4. Apparent weakness not to be abused v4.
   Paul would evidence to them what Christ really thought of the false apostles and libertines in the exercise of his God-given authority over them.
