It is also a miracle of grace when rebellious men may call God 'Father'. Just as the prodigal's first word after returning home was 'Father' so the spirit of adoption in Christians is to call God 'Father'. By grace we have returned from the far country of sin and shame. We are given a willing heart and a new spirit of love to address God as 'Father'.
