Eye for an Eye According to Jesus

The principle of an eye for an eye was given by God as a boundary on the rage of a man when wronged, hurt or sinned against! Our nature often moves us to respond to injury by inflicting worse injury! We have a natural tendency to want to get back at those who hurt us! In these passages God is restraining our sin from going beyond what is right. The implication is that but for the grace of God man will most naturally be draconian in his justice. He will not be equitable. We invite you to learn of the grace in Christ that helps us not to repay evil with evil, but to overcome it with good.
