The Tenth Commandment

Proposition: In the Tenth Commandment, God forbids covetousness and envy, but requires full satisfaction in Him and contentment with His provision.

Jesus warns of the sin of covetousness in Luke 12:15–"Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Since Jesus the God-man has been tempted in every way as we are, but He is without sin, then we ought to heed His warning. Admittedly, it is so easy for covetousness to slip into and take root in our hearts.
