Introduction to the Upper Room Episode

All four of the gospel writers recorded Jesus' final Passover meal with His apostles, but John gave particular emphasis to the Lord's instruction at that time - in action as well as in word. And because the Passover provided the context for Jesus' instruction, it's important to interpret His words and actions in terms of the Passover's historical and salvation-historical significance and its ultimate fulfillment in the Calvary event.
