The darkness that can be felt. This last "sign" of the last triad of signs is the final warning for Pharaoh and Egypt of the judgment that is to befall them. This is a warning to everyone that God's patience and long-suffering has an ending and then the accountability. If there is no accountability then there is no "fear of the Lord" and thus God is of little consequence. Even Christians come to believe this lie in time.
