Abraham: Returned Unto His Place

The 18th chapter tells of Abraham's prayers of petition of Lot. In the 19th chapter, Abraham stepped out of his home to see the smoke of destruction rising from the city of Sodom. We are told God "remembered Abraham" and delivered Lot from the doomed city. Remember the words of James: "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16).
