Remembering and Singing of the Mercies of the LORD

This message was preached at our 2013 Thanksgiving Eve Service.

Many of us when we read the first verses of Psalm 89 can hear the melody that rejoices in singing the Lord's praises... and this should be so. The Book of Psalms is an essential part of the Church's liturgy and Worship.

Well, Psalm 89 not only remembers God's mercies, but also a time of unparalleled destruction and upheaval. Whether this was after Jerusalem's fall during the exile or much earlier in the days of Solomon's son Rehoboam, the angst of the times was clear.

Regardless which of these settings provides the backdrop, the enduring faith and confidence in God and His grace is amazing.

3. The Anticipated Fulfillment of Praise
