Something to Prove in 2018

In this sermon from Jeremiah 33, God calls out to his children "Call to Me, and I will answer you." God's amazing invitation to us comes from the creator and sustainer of the Universe--so we know he can do it!
More than simply able, God is pleased to answer us--yet do we go to him first and often with our needs? Do we believe the reply of God will be "great and might things, which you do not know?" The Lord says in John 16:24 "...ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full." Imagine that! God's ulterior motive in telling us to ask and receive: he wants our joy to be full!
Finally, we see the promise to amaze in that phrase to show "things you do not know." The things we ask for will be just the beginning as God is pleased to add to those things much more than we could even think. This is the wonder of an infinite God in that there's always more.
The sermon concludes with a practical list of things to ask for--that our New Year's resolutions won't be about our striving, but asking with every expectation that God is able to answer--and more!
