The Favored Son

Genesis 37:1-4 begins the detailed saga of Joseph's life. In these opening verses, Joseph demonstrates that strong character and conviction are attributes that can and should be expected from young people. God demonstrates through Jacob's treatment of Joseph that the blessing and rewarding of strong character, conviction, and purity is a form of appropriate and moral favoritism.
