Cutting off Apostates & Apostasy in the Land

The LORD would have Israel to love Him with the whole heart. To prove their love for Him there would come false prophets and dreamers, even some of the closest of family and friends would rise up to draw them away after other gods. Whole cities could get caught up in the error of the wicked. As a preventive to the spread of apostasy the LORD instructs them to deal sharply with apostates. There are some things the Christian and the churches can take from this. Like Israel, do not be surprised that there will come some, perhaps nearest and dearest of friends and family, that will try to draw you and other disciples away from the one and only true faith of Jesus Christ.
