Jesus with Lazarus and His Sisters (2)

We arrive today to the second section of this episode in John 11 of Jesus raising his friend Lazarus from the dead. This is the miracle of miracles wrought by our Lord, which revealed to those even closest to Him more fully of both His divine and human natures. Today we address verses 17 through 27, in which the conflict of the story is set forth. This conflict involves not just the death of Lazarus, but it also includes the crisis of faith that his death brought to his sisters, Martha and Mary. May the Lord use the conflicts that He permits to enter our lives reveal Him more clearly and fully to us.
