God: Your Defense and Your Glory

God encourages His people, Israel, to return to Jerusalem with visions of a city without walls, defended by God, and swelling with prosperity. The promises of God, like this one, have immediate implications even when their ultimate fulfilment is long-term. God interacts with mankind and our environment in ways that are beneficial now and rewarded eternally. The most secular response to God's promises is to live your life unmoved by Him. Even when His leading leads you into precarious situations, the man or woman of faith will follow His call to live in light of eternity.
