The Purpose of the Incarnation

The eternally existent, divine Son of God, was sent by God because of love, as the gift to meet every person's greatest need. To neglect the salvation provided by Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection is to drift through life to destruction. By the incarnation the devil was rendered powerless, those enslaved to sin and death were set free, and the wrath of God was turned away by the ultimate High Pries who made the once and for all sacrifice for sin.
