Prepare the Way of the Lord

Isaiah 40:3-5 is fulfilled by the ministry John the Baptist as the forerunner of Christ. He came preaching repentance in preparation for Christ's coming. This preparation is the gift of repentance and faith as we are humbled and trust in Christ for our redemption. This preparation for God's salvation was not only for those in Christ's day but for those who have heard Christ's voice in the Gospel. Our hearts are daily prepared to receive Christ's work of salvation for we are called to live a life of repentance and walk by faith.
