Patience Is the Watchword
Series Sunday Morning Sermon
In this year of 2020, fraught at times with uncertainty, many of our normal freedoms have been curtailed. We have had to get used to draconian rules, the absence of many of our church meetings and activities. We have endured huge inconveniences, disappointments and losses. These things look set to continue, and the prospects for January 2021 are quite sobering.
The needed virtue of 'patience' still remains, this and other character forming traits such as long-suffering, endurance, perseverance and overcoming are before us as lessons to be learnt. Patience is therefore vital, because our Christian pilgrimage reminds us that it is a matter of being in for the long haul. Through these things we are to learn and grow, remembering that there is a great day coming. We have great promises to sustain us, which makes patience attractive and worthwhile.
