William Grimshaw - His Life & Labours (1)

1,063

Of all those used of God in the eighteenth-century Evangelical Revival in England very few are less well-known and appreciated than William Grimshaw. His was indeed a remarkable ministry, a ministry which he exercised in the north of England, chiefly in the County of Yorkshire, in a place called Haworth. Faith Cook, the wife of the speaker Paul Cook, has written an excellent biography of Grimshaw, in which she describes him as “someone whose life and ministry was so influential in the wonderful years of the eighteenth-century Evangelical Awakening.” She goes on to describe him as “a rugged and gifted evangelist, who lived for the spread of the gospel and the good of the church.”

William Grimshaw was born on the 14th September 1708 and died, aged 55 on the 7th April 1763.

Faith Cook's account of William Grimshaw's life and labour has been published by the Banner of Truth Trust, entitled “William Grimshaw of Haworth”. We would warmly commend it to you.
