Walking in Christ

In verse 6, the term "received" refers to acceptance of the teaching about Christ as well as the acceptance of Christ himself as one's Lord and Savior, acknowledging that one is united to him by God's grace. The Colossians had received the true gospel from the apostles, but they needed to continue in that manner of living. Only then would they grow in their Christian faith.
