God's Greatest Gift

In this familiar Christmas passage, we have already found something last week not familiar to many: the first indication that the fourth beast of Daniel 2 and 7 exists, namely, the Roman Empire, since they sent out a decree for the entire world to be taxed. Today we see the sovereignty of God again working as He Himself brings His chose couple to the proper city at the proper time so that Scripture would be fulfilled. The birth and life of Jesus was never an afterthought with the Godhead. Jesus was born in the fullness of times, just as God had promised. We really have been expecting Him (in our study), and we really have been expecting His return.
