A Sign Is Given

The kingdom of Judah was on a condition of imminent peril, Syria and Israel had come up to Jerusalem with the intent to destroy the city and end the monarchy of Judah. Isaiah, the royal prophet, stands up and declares to their frightened king that he should not be afraid because God will destroy both of these powerful enemies to preserve the kingdom. God promises that a great one who will clearly display a love for holiness and a hatred for sin.
