The Cutting of the Abrahamic Covenant

Some chief features of a Biblical covenant are presented and seen in the covenant that God established with Abraham. From Genesis chapters 12, 15, and 17 we see that the cutting of animals ratified a covenant between men, as well as between God and people. But there is a greater and more dynamic cutting in that the lacerated body of Christ on the cross makes it possible for God to cut away our sinful hearts and give us a new heart that delights in him.
