The Role of Scripture in Prayer

Scripture must inform and shape our prayers. Gleaning from 1 Timothy 2:1-3 pastor Chris demonstrates that our prayers must be indiscriminate. We should pray for all kinds of people, but especially for those in positions of societal and governing influence.

Additionally, christian prayer means prayer for one’s enemies. Prayer for one’s enemies is antithetical to the flesh, but we can pray nonetheless because we are empowered by the Spirit of God.
