Falling Away

Christians know people who have fallen away. They make a start but do not endure. Here is an Old Testament example. He started with the Word of God but welcomed the support of ungodly men. He was reluctant to obey God. Wordly gain resulted in spiritual loss and the challenge to repentance was ignored. Pride kept this man from submitting to God's Word and drove him to his own destruction. He ignored the warnings and came to a bad end. He is a lesson to us to be sensitive to God's Word.
