God Rescues Sarah

Abraham is in a backslidden condition. Verse 3 contains the most wonderful words of chpt 20 - "but God came". God speaks to Abimelech in a dream & indicts him for adultery. Abimelech asserts his innocence (in this case), & petitions God's justice. God explains to Abimelech that it was His grace that prevented him from defiling Sarah & directs him to release her to her husband Abraham, or be killed. We learn here how we, even as Christians, can endanger our own lives by our sin. How we must rejoice for God's mercy & grace that thwarts sin both in us & the unconverted.
