God befriends Abraham - amazing. His friendship is shown in the grace given to his wife. As his divine Friend, He spurs Abraham on to give leadership to his wife. He rebukes Sarah to bring her to repentance & faith so that she can participate in covenant blessing. Amazingly, it is from this incident of unbelief that Peter extracts Sarah's commendation in 1 Pt 3:6. As Abraham's Friend, He fortifies his wife's faith for it was by faith that she conceived (Hb 11:11).
