To inherit eternal life

Having told us that we must receive the kingdom of God as children, Luke shows us a sincere and earnest man who thinks in terms of what he has to do in order to inherit the kingdom. Here we follow this ruler's conversation with Christ, from his opening words, through Christ's successive challenges, to his bold claim, to Christ's key demand, to the sad conclusion. Will we learn that all our doing must be done away with if we are to inherit God's kingdom?
