They Value... What We Value

109

"They Value... What We Value!".

Who values what? Our arrows will usually value what we value in life. We noticed these principles in Nehemiah 13.

All wasn't easy, but things were moving in the right direction, in Nehemiah's day, as long as a strong leader graciously, and with much grit, led them. But, as soon, as Nehemiah went back to Artaxerxes the people went straight back to their old ways. Your arrows need strong leadership, you need strong leadership, we all need strong biblical and godly leadership or we'll let the enemy into the places of our lives where only God and His people belong. The corrupt leaders allowed the enemy to move into their heart of who they were, take over their day of rest and manipulate their children to underestimate the value God has placed on living life His way. Basically teaching the kids that their way of doing life was better and more effective than God's way. The result was that now they are shaping their kids (arrows) to miss the mark. Why? Any way of living, other than and contrary to God's way, is corrupt and crooked if God and His grace is not in it.

Some of us have poorly led our children, not on purpose, but because we've been poor followers and we couldn't help but devalue what is most important in life and then we elevate the value of vain and empty things. Leadership and serving others gets messy at times... but those little feet will follow you, lead them well, it's worth it, for you and them.

Many of our children and grandchildren know more about games and guns than they do the gospel of grace. They can tell us about football and food but know so little about forgiveness, fishing for men and the fruit of the Spirit. Jus
