The Coming of God

What happens when God Himself comes into our world? Today, we remember the answer. As we celebrate Christmas remember that it is the night of nights in all of human history; The coming of God into our fallen estate is the most wondrous and mysterious event, and its remembrance is precious to us all. We set aside this night to commemorate this most spectacular of realities, the simple and inexplicable fact that God Himself entered into His creation and set right what sin has destroyed. No one could decide this but God. No other will could fulfill nor even begin the work. It was not a task which could be accomplished by a proxy, by an emissary or even a commissioned ambassador… this was something that could only be done by God Himself.
