A King Like No Other

Mary was the recipient of a message from the angel that was a great announcement. That she was to have a child when she was a virgin was one thing. To learn that this child was the longed for Messiah and that furthermore He was the Son of God took the announcement to new levels still. Many today would not welcome, as Mary did, to hear about this coming King. They might not trust the words or think the ruler prophesied would be able to live up to expectations. While people may think themselves wise to reject grand claims made by and for rulers, people are actually ruled by invisible rulers. People are following the path set out for them by the devil whether they are aware of it or not. While reckoning themselves to be original they are actually reproducing the thoughts of the devil.

The call then is for us to behold this King. Firstly it will mean absorbing some unpalatable truths. We must learn we are sinners and humble ourselves before the Lord. We must learn of the huge debt of sin. But then we must see the love of Christ shown at Calvary. He comes to rule over us and His kingdom has no end.
