Luke 7:36-50 [Loving Jesus]
Series The Gospel of Luke
- Introduction:
Genuine Faith in Jesus results in genuine Love for Jesus. In fact, only a Christian can say “I Love You, Jesus!”.
Christians love God because they were first loved by God.
Having no Love for Jesus means you have no Faith in God.
- Few questions of primary importance:
Do you love Jesus Christ? Do you love the whole Jesus Christ?
How do I know I truly love Christ?
What would bring you more joy? What are you passionate about?
- The evidence of Love
A genuine Love is an authentic, unreserved love.
- The evidence of Unbelief
The evidence of Simon unbelief is that he comes to two conclusions about Christ:
a) This man is not a prophet;
b) He is not righteous.
Jesus has to say something about those who Love Him and for those who don’t believe in Him.
The evidence you are a Christian is the Faith in Jesus Christ, the evidence of your Faith in Jesus Christ is your Love for Jesus Christ.
A Christian is a person who
- has peace with God through the work of Jesus Christ
- turns away from sin
- has genuine Faith that results in genuine Love for Jesus.
