Kiss the Son

67

ADMONITION GIVEN (Psalm 2:10-12)

Psalm 2:10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

A. To Wisdom (Psalm 2:10; see Revelation 13:18; Revelation 17:9)

  1. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings

  2. Be instructed, ye judges of the earth (Revelation 13:18)
    B. To Fear (Psalm 2:11)

  3. Serve the LORD with fear.

  4. Rejoice with trembling.

C. To Obeisance—reverence (Psalm 2:12)

  1. Kiss the Son (see Psalm 2:7 with Acts 13:33; Hebrews 1:5; Hebrews 5:5); Note: The "kiss" is an act of reverence (1 Samuel 10:1; 1 Kings 19:18).
  2. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.
1 Samuel 10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?
1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
