Purpose: John opens his evangelistic letter with a simple yet direct observation: the Creator entered His creation to reverse the terrible consequences of sin, yet mankind in stunning rebellion has to a large extent rejected Him, rather than embracing Him as their Savior.
Proposition: God wants you to respond correctly to the person and work of Christ.
