Jesus Came To Destroy the Works of the Devil

Jesus Christ came into the world to destroy the works of the devil. The devil has introduced a foreign element into God's world (sin) by declaring an unholy war against God. That is why sin is rebellion against God, or lawlessness. God sent Christ, the warrior, the destroyer, to wipe out the works of the devil. Christ did this on the cross, He does this in us now, and He will completely and finally eradicate and undo the works of the devil on the last day.
