Glory To God In The Highest!
Luke 2:8-14
We must glorify God for His favor to us in sending His Son!
Proclamation by God of the incarnation (8-12)
The audience: simple shepherds (8)
The proclaimer: an Angel of the Lord (9)
The good news: “good news of a great joy” (10a)
The ultimate recipients: “all the people” (10b)
The content: the birth of a savior, Christ the Lord (11)
The proof: a baby in a manger (12)
Praise to God for the incarnation (13)
The heavenly host joins the Angel of the Lord (13a)
They praise God (13b)
Purpose of God in the incarnation (14)
His own glory (14a)
Peace among “those with whom He is pleased” (14b)
Application
Do you have peace with God, and with each other?
Glorify God for His favor toward you by believing in the Son He sent to die!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:14
“"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
