The Cross: Revelation of God's Character

The crucifixion of Christ upon the cross was a public display of righteousness and justice in that the righteousness of God, revealed in His Law, was satisfied in Christ bearing its penal demands. Divine justice was satisfied in that Christ, the sinner's substitute, bore the retributive judgment of the Father. Bound up in the same public display was the superlative revelation of the love and grace of the righteous and just God.
