Christ's Love Received and Requite

In the life of the Church there have been many errors believed by those that profess faith, and even taught by those in the pulpit. Legalism, Antinomianism, and Easy-Believism are just three examples. One that is very common today is Carnal Christianity, where the sinner seeks salvation from Christ, but not His Lordship, as if there can be any redemption without the duty of obedience. In our text today, Christ makes it very clear that the love of God, obedience to His Word, salvation and sanctification are not a pick-and-mix assortment, but they are one complete package, whereby Christ must be Saviour AND Lord, or He is nothing to you:
