The Mission

This is the first sermon in what will be a two-year expository series on the Book of Acts. First, the prologue in Acts 1:1-3 is explained as a transition from the final chapter of Luke's Gospel into this second volume of Luke's works. Secondly, the ascension of Jesus Christ is shown to be an important moment in the apostles' growing understanding of the mission of the Church.
