Military Graveside Service(John Underwood)

177 ( 63 | 114 )

John Underwood was a friend & man of God who was very gifted in many areas of ministry. One was being the camera man, which meant mailing the DVD out every week to Comcast edited for exactly 58 minutes. The ministry went out into 3 Georgia counties to help our shut-in members stay in tune with our church family. The broadcast was televised for many years with Johns countless hours of editing. John helped me with my Power Points on using the right colors and how to present the Gospel better. John starting helping Bob Carroll teach adults in Sunday school and it was a joy to watch him get up and talk about Jesus the mornings that he taught. John had a love of God in his smile that really shined and gave glory and honor to Jesus Christ Our Lord. God always puts special people like John and Lavonne in our lives. The Christian life is about being held by God and in Turn holding onto Him. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. 36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. Ps 18:35-36 Helping you and me isn't' that big of a deal for God. It's just that we may not always recognize what His helping hand looks like. His Indwelling Spirit certainly whispers encouragement to our hearts, and gives us strength for the task. His helping hand may also be at the end of a willing nearby arm, an old friend, a new friend, a sister or brother in Church, the hand of a colleague at work, and are someone in our immediate family. The Lord's hands are always outstretched to receive us. The Lord was happy to hold Johns hand when it was his time to go into eternity. We will see you again!
