A Greater Vision — An Ever Growing Witness

A Study in Romans 1

The gospel is the power of God to unveil to His sheep their eternal salvation through Christ Jesus: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:16-17).

HIS MESSAGE
God has chosen both the method of preaching and the message that is to be preached. Since He has chosen both the method and the message, we can see how important it is He should also choose the messengers. It is His message and method, and they are His messengers. It is true we must hear God's gospel to be saved, and it is also true someone has to be sent by God to preach His saving message. God uses Paul to affirm His method of preaching and that He is still sending out His messengers in Romans:
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
