The Power of the Tongue Part 2

196 ( 112 | 84 )

James is very concerned that we who profess Christian faith should live out that faith. The true evidence of a believer is a changed and changing life, becoming more and more repentant and holy. He exhorts us to look at our life with this in mind. In this passage, he helps us examine our speech. The tongue has an unexpected power; it directs your life the way a rudder directs a ship. He seeks to wake us up from slumbering, half-hearted attempts to deal with our tongue. The specific message in this part of the passage is the destructive power of the tongue.
