The Humiliation of Christ
Series The Gospel of Mark
28
Jesus was not humiliated on the cross in the sense that He was embarrassed or that His pride was hurt. He had no pride. He was humiliated in the sense of the way He was treated by His enemies. The poured contempt and scorn on Him. They mocked Him, taunted Him and laughed at Him. We consider the ignominy of what He endured at the hands of vile, wicked sinners. But we also must consider that in this state of humiliation, Christ was a victorious and conquering king.
