A Vision of Jesus Christ

358 ( 119 | 239 )

John opened the book of Revelation (verses 1-8) with a focus on the position of Jesus Christ as the King of kings; now he reveals the person of Jesus Christ as the God of glory (verses 9-20). After validating his supernatural revelation as being real (on Patmos, in spirit, on Sunday), John shares his vision of Jesus Christ in great detail (clothed in a robe, golden girdle, head, hair, eyes, feet, voice, right hand, mouth and face), clearly revealing that Jesus Christ is God - the first and the last, crucified and resurrected, and having the keys of death and of Hades. God gives John a vocation to write down the vision in a scroll and to send it to the seven churches to whom it is addressed.
