King James Only-ism

Reviews the reasons to retain its use. We use it because we believe that it is the best Text. Criticizing a Believer because of the Bible Version he prefers is like unto the cry of "I am of Apollos..." 1 Cor. 1:12, and is divisive. We are not about to discourage anyone from studying the Bible. You can study on whatever level you are: a cartoon version of Scripture, a loose paraphrase elementary school level, an adult reading translation, a good accurate translation like the King James, or if you are on the level of studying the Scriptures in their original languages, study it that way, but study it. If you are one of His Children, He will make sure that you are properly nourished and grow. Much can be said about the "Westcott & Hort" Text Only position as being rather narrow and one-sided. Some who take such a position often choose to condemn others who don't share that position, as being less informed, less educated, or even less spiritual. That is not viewed as a good Christian position, belittlement isn't the answer . We shouldn't be impressed by the spiritually or scholarship of anyone who looks down their nose on Believers over what Bible is preferred. One shouldn't base their decision on unfounded claims, on either side of this issue. Modern notes tend to plant seeds of doubt in the reader. "If this part is doubtful, what else?" Some critics attempt to establish themselves as the authority, in the place of the Word of God. The Church is to build and encourage faith in the Word of God, not put doubt in the minds of those who read It.
