Lament and Hope for the Righteous

What would it be like if God removed every vestige of good from life on earth today? Surely it would be a living hell on earth! Be assured, this has never happened and never will happen until the end of time—God has always mixed some good in the bad that we might not be entirely without some comfort of hope. Nevertheless, during times of apostasy in the church, the faithful wish they had more righteous friends. They are greatly burdened by the violence and lust of their fellow men. During such days it is time to take up a lament, as Micah does—and yet take comfort in hope!
