The Cross and Self-Denial

This re-recording of a sermon preached at Countryside Bible Church emphasizes the universal, absolute prerequisite for following Christ, the voluntary and nameless cross. To illustrate this prerequisite, the sermon tells stories from John Calvin, the French Protestant reformer, and from John Nelson Darby, the father of dispensationalism and early leader in the Brethren movement. At the end, the example of Christ Himself stands alone, the prime instance of "God with us."
