Paul's Clear Conscience Before God

As Christians we are to have consciences that are clear before God, not clear in our own hearts. Our consciences as Holy Spirit indwelled children of God, are to be captive to the Word of God, and cleansed by ongoing repentance. And when that is where we stand, we must never act against our conscience, for that is neither right nor safe.
