Abraham Believed God

"Abraham Believed God."

That is the secret. He was not faithless but believing the promises of HIM who had revealed Himself to Abram in the Ur of the Chaldees. God called that patriarch, and he simply believed and followed — and God imputed the perfect righteousness of the Son of God to that sinner.

That's how you and I are saved — if we are ever saved — we don't contribute anything to our salvation but it is ALL the work of God, "working in us" (Phil. 2:13; Heb. 13:21) both repentance and faith, and revealing His righteousness to us.
